Chimeron Questing XXIX: Blue Town Rush Blackwood Joe and the Quarry of Quandaries

Adventurers of the Realms,
I would like to thank you all for your help in clearing the tunnels of hostile creatures. After taking out what Hector refers to as the “Amal-golem”, we can now continue our archeological study of the various chambers in what I now believe is some sort of scientific outpost. I especially appreciate the adventurers that helped me and my team learn a few spells! No doubt they will come in handy in the future.

I am analyzing the map that you all found. It is quite old, but with it as a guideline, I believe I can gain enough support for a few scouting expeditions to this “Black City”. I want to make sure it’s safe for my scientists before we commit to a full expedition. Let me take care of all the permits and preparation, and I will contact you all when we are ready to dive deeper into the caves. No doubt there will be plenty of danger and discoveries to be had along the way!

My camp doors (flaps?) are always open should you need anything, or wish to use the gem player to listen to the ancient logs. Oh, and if you see “Blackwood Joe” make sure he stays at least a mile from the nearest archeological site.

Thank you to all of the PCs that participated in Chimeron Questing ‘24! Thanks to all of you, a brand new Event staff got to throw their first event! We would especially like to thank Amber Fox, Meg Matulewicz, Devon Power-Sanford, Kathy Fey, and Becky Baron for their wonderful crafting expertise which helped bring our monsters and scenes to life. All of the Monster Tabards, gemstone patches, resin gemstones, and final map were made by these lovely people. I would also like to thank Megan Williamson, Katrina Hull, and Owen Lacey for helping bring the Earthwyrm and the crab claw boffers to life. Another huge thank you to Kim Coffey for running a seamless kitchen and providing everyone with food for the whole event. Lastly, a big thank you to all of our combat NPCs who showed up to help make this event happen.

I hope you all enjoyed the special Voice Player prop. Cameron put the whole thing together and was the mastermind behind the concept. I would like to give a huge huge huge shoutout and thank you to our voice actors, Alex Gorowara as Daedalus, Megan Williamson as Sigwyn, and Crystal Welch as Phina. Our event definitely would not have had that impressive professional touch without their help. Expect to hear them again in the future!

Okay onto the plot stuff. You all helped clear out the quarry of dangerous creatures and discovered several voice logs from an ancient race. If you missed any, or would prefer a written version of the logs, they can be found in an upcoming Word from the West to be published in the View.

As new event holders, we very much would like feedback on this event.
